How to get on Google?

Just wondering if any of you guys know any tips to get your site coming up as results on Google. I've heard the process actually takes a few months for the google spiders to find your site..

So, whatchas think?

:) Hi no it only takes a few days in most cases, but anyway the best way to get a top rank on google. is to use phantom cloaker. Go on google and search for phantom cloaker, it will cloak your site so a top rank is easily achievable.

Well ask diffrent people to submit becuase the more people that submit the higher a page rank it iwll get. So remember ask diffrent people to submit it for best results.

Not true. The more links you have after you have been added to the crawl, the higher your rank will be. So if you have a website, put the URL in ur signiture. Get as many people to add that link to their signiture.

Holy @$%£ that reminds me, I am meant to making a Link Directory. The point of the Link Directory I am creating is to help you increase your google ranking. Dont ask me how its Creators idea.

That sounds a lot like a voluntary link exchange system. So basically the only way to get on Google is get the link to your site out there on as many other websites as possible?

I'm researching all of this right now and a couple things I've learned are: use descriptive page titles. Make a list of 5 to 20 key words and use them on your site but don't spam them. Basically only use them once per page if possible. And use text to link your site using the same words everytime. Try to get them listed on blogs to up their importance. This decided me to put a blog on my site here.

Link farms and link exchanges don't work... especially with google; they catch it and your ranking goes down.

What is better is to try and get your link onto sites that are similar to yours (hence has relevant info); quality is better than quantity.

The thing that's always amused me about people wanting to get their personal sites on google is this: Why?

I mean, it would be cool for random people to pop into my site and leave comments, but I'd rather forget the search crowd, and just get my freinds on, and link from communities like this, so that traffic is relevant and perhaps useful. I don't provide a service, I don't make money off my site, I just want to have somewhere central (i.e. online) where I can show people my work and they can comment on it.

Of course, maybe I'm crazy. I just don't see why anyone cares what their pagerank is. If your site is any good, people will link to it, and it will go up in search results anyways. If people would just do that, then pagerank might actually be relevant. ;)

As far as why people want a high page rank that is for them to answer

Automated link exchanges don't help but the right link placement is worth it.

Don't belive me? Do this:

Go to Google and type in: miserable failure
and look at the first result returned.

Anyway, many websites submit your website to search engines for free...I had my personal website in google, but I forget how to get it there. I think you have to go to Google Directories

Lol i just searched shwaza on google and 4 things came up, 2 of them being posts ive made in other forums... yay something i did shows up on google lol
