Hey everyone!
The Webmaster's Tool (http://www.thewebmasterstool.com/) has been around for a couple of years, it had an old design, which was improved to the current one! Now it's established with PR5 and around 100UV a day I have to say that the time is right.
I will soon be having a long summer break, about (6 weeks)! and I want to raise the game on The Webmaster's Tool (http://www.thewebmasterstool.com/), take it to the next level, make it better, improve traffic, SEO, SERPS and ultimantly earn more!
So what do you think I should do? I am thinking of giving it a complete make-over, so maybe use AJAX to produce something like a computer desktop where all the diffrent tools are under folders and you have to browse through it like you do with windows, appart from the fact that they won't see files, but instead tools. maybe something else, i don't know yet! I'm just playing with ideas right now to be honest!
But I wanted to know what you guys here think!
What advice do you have for me?
What should I do now? Text Links aren't as hot as they used to be! But what is these days?
What's hot in this niche right now and what's not?
Looking forward to hearing your advice and recommenaions!
Thanks

Welll it looks good but to many ads it make no difference if you place 20 ads on 1 page then 5 and you got to sort it out becouse i think that most ppl dont know the link SEO means on your site make a mouse over tiltle make the site user friendly and really less ads
BTW i use adbrite its much better than google, Google doesnt pay for every click ! (tested it ) adbrite doesnt do that to but google you get payed at 100 usd and adbrite 5 usd
Well maybe you got to do it like my site , http://www.kiaboard.nl its dutch but just wanna show you how easy it is to keep your site clean and pretty :D
Have a nice day !
(keep up the good work )

i knew that, that's why i though it was an old post for two reasons:
1.)i remeber the avatar if its the same one all this time??
2.) maybe because of 1.) i had some strange feeling i had read that post before and it was just after asgsoft set-up wemastertools.
i think they were perfectly insane reasons for misjudging the date, sorry for the confusin and off topic,
Now for some advice, well not really advice just confidence because before i came back to HM i was just thinking of setting up a new site,I was thinking of certain "tools" i would need and i remembered your website. Had a look at some of the tools, but I dont really have much of a website to test them on. :)

what you wanna test m8 becouse i tested my first site legerlid.hostmatrix.org / kia.hostmatrix.org just here do it in a private folder that no one can accses but if you violat the tos and other rules we got to shut that site down , so for a illegal shit pm me i will make a ftp account for my site for you like yourname.kiaboard.nl ONLY for testing and you will get 100 mb , if you like send me a pm and is it possible to set more accounts on Cpanel

Hey guys!
I still haven't got any advice regarding my site!

Ok Ok.
Here's my suggestion:
As far as the text links are concerned, you can bring more hits by including a descriptive thumbnail... as the Cpanel.
Or you can have the thumbnail left aligned and the corresponding text to its right.
About the thumbnails, Size ~50*50 px and do see that they do not exceed 5kB in size (to rescue the dial-up connection hits that you receive)
Less words, less ad concentration (make more pages about a particular topic and distribute the ads) and an elegant look will make users more comfortable.
All the best!

Uhmm.. I will also advice what this folks have said regarding the ads. A lot of people are easily anoyed by ads and a lot of people will left your site in no time especially if they have poor internet connection then the page is poorly loading just because of the ads. :) Think about it, always put your self in the shoes of others especially to those who has poor internet connection. :P
Another thing I would advice is for the SEO, I guess you should have some revision in the title of each of your tools? for example (http://www.thewebmasterstool.com/keywordsuggestion.php)
The title is "The Webmasters Tool - Keyword Suggestion" I guess it would be SEO friendly if you put it this way "Keyword Suggestion - [keyword description], [keyword again]". It will be a lot of title edits each of your tools but I guess it will be worth it in your search engine ranking. :) I have proven this method with my website and even though it has PR:0(because it was launched in March 2008), it's in the Top 10 in google for specific keywords search. (e.g: fastest online dictionary, fastest dictionary, web browser click dictionary, toolbar online dictionary and so on...)
I hope this advices would help you enhance your website. :D Good luck!
