Yet another number thing

so many number patterns!! I absolutely stink at math, but my friend recently gave me this puzzle that has nothing to do with problems or calculating at all...more abstract. I also think it's one of the dumbest things ever, but I like to share curiosities.

The following group of numbers can make a sentence, either by making words that sound like the numbers, letters that the numbers can represent, or definitions of the numbers.

for instance the number 1 could mean "i", "one," "won," etc. Or the number 0 could be an 'o,' or it could mean 'nothing'...get it? it's confusing, but it came from our school's crazy math teacher.

the sentence is:

1 0 0 4 1 8 0

what could it mean? This one is dumb, so I won't be long in giving the answer.

"I owe nothing for I ate 0"

Something like that.

so close that I give it to you!! I actually had to have it explained to me...twice. then the answer given to me:

I owe nothing, for I ate nothing!

can anyone else come up with a sentence like that?

---I also forgot to say, a number might also represent a word that begins with that letter:

0 might mean 'nothing,' 'owe,' 'o'....or it might mean 'ought,' 'oak'...anything that begins with 'o', understand?

..like, 1 might represent any 'i' word. confusing, eh?

how do you get 'time' out of 'three'...oh, wait...'t'. I get it. Ah, good one!

I've been informed by my friend I actually got the first sentence wrong...it should be

1 0 2 0 0 4 1 8 0...I ought to owe nothing, for I ate not...but I got the gist, anyway.
