When I first read this I didn't work it out and had to cheat (looked in the back of the book), let's see who is smarter than I was.

I hope you don't all get it or I'll feel a bit daft :D

In the following sequence of numbers which number comes next
3 7 10 11

Please post you number and the reason why (as we can all guess :p )

No and as a clue it's not 19 either :)

As a bigger clue it's not just about numbers (and I don't mean 68... :D )

Could it be 13?

And what is your reason for choosing lucky 13

Prime numbers was what I was thinking, but 10 is a composite number.

13 you say,

prime numbers you use,

composite numbers you have knowledge of eh,

Answer to riddle you think is 13,

Response to your answer is,

Wrong :p in both answer and reasoning

Whoa, Sage Tech is speaking Yoda! :D

10? No, no... pi! Maybe it's Ben Stiller! ...Yellow! That's it!

Yes, it has to be, because pi squared - X = MC Hammer.

Wait, what about 11?

3 + 7 - 10 + 11 = 11

It's a Saturday night (actually a Sunday morning for me now :o ), humor me, that is what this sub-forum is all about :) .

In answer to your answer the answer is not 11 and the reason has nothing to do with prime numbers

PS the above formating is an SEO joke (and a bad one at that)

Well since I have absolutely no clue, and Google isn't giving me answers I am going to say this as my answer: It is in a range from 0 to infinity, therefore you must give me atleast some credit, it is only fair.

The weird thing is when I went to Yahoo! and typed in 3 7 10 11 the first result was opera. :p

I choose this puzzle in the hope you couldn't do what I did and Google to the back of the book :).

I'll be interested to see who gets this first, I have already given the best clue, it is not just about numbers.

Well tell me the book name, i'll go buy it, check the answer index, then reply to this thread. No one will ever know!

If Amazon sold it I would give you an affiliate link :) but alas this riddle will be solved by grey matter alone, and I will say, it's a nasty one.

I did look at your equally hard maths riddle (http://forums.hostmatrix.org/showthread.php?t=3351) and shied away from it, this riddle is not about maths ;)

Ah, but my riddle doesn't have to do with math as well. I will give you a cookie if you get it.

I'm going to go with 12

I chose it because the only vowel that those numbers have in common is e, so then next one is T - W - E - L - V - E

Correct well done, I need to ask did you cheat or work it out, either way I'm very impressed :D

No, I didnt' cheat, once you told me that it's not about the numbers, I spelled them all out. Then I spelled the ones in between to and found that in common :) Took me about 3 minutes.

oy...opera I can take...numbers scramble me!! I'm one of the people who took the MINIMUM requirements of math in school....hmmmmmm....

3, 7, 10, 11....did you say no to 21? because 3+7=10...10+11=21...but then where did 11 come from?

*head explodes*
