having problem with the index file

can anyone tell me how to set an 'index.php' as the default page (which works like 'index.html') on my site? as i'm having problem with it, thanks!!!! :D

all you need to do is make the you don't have any index.html pages in your public_html folder and then move your index.php into that folder and it will be your default.

i thiught that should make it work. theoreticly you propbly had an index.htm file and an index.php file so index.htm was read first :)
