Hey....

Has anyone else tried the new Fedora yet..? My friend brough 25 Linux CDs and they arrived today, so i thought i would give it ago. But to my shock i find out that something wasnt right and it was like the refresh of my screen wasnt right..!

But i have installed Mandrake 10.1 now and im real happy with it. It has everything i need, CD Player, HTML Editors, Web Server, Email Clients, FTP Server, you name it i have it..!

If anyone else wants to try some sort of linux and dont know which to choose give Mandrake a shot or Fedora if it works.

Also if anyone hasnt got a fast internet connection go to http://www.fastdiscs.com to go and buy Linux on a CD. The prices are real good, me and my mate has the multi buy :).

be a 1 not a 0 :D

Well actually all i did was install it and if you didnt open anything it looked normal but when you opened a box up and moved it around the object in side it would disappear and then come back after you move your mouse over them.

Im not a newbi to Linux but iv never had that happen. Any ways i have Mandrake 10.1 now and it works really well..! This also has the web server, PHP, MySQL, Perl etc on it

My university is using fedora for its computer science labs, but I cant figure something out... I see the redhat icon on its menu, but it claims to be Fedora. Is fedora just an extension of redhat, or what?

Emmm well Red Hat 9 was the last free Red Hat version out and now they have moved to Red Hat Enterprise to get money basically (Its not free..!).

Because the new versions arnt free they started something called the Red Hat Project. Then a group of people called them selfs Fedora and took over the project. I really did like Red Hat 9 but i guess i have to move on because it isnt being updated no more :(

im a big debian fan myself, but i used to use Red Hat 9... Once they said it wasn't going to be free anymore i just went and found Debian, and then heard about Fedora. I didn't feel like switching so I never used it... And i don't plan to either, Debian is so awesome. Its great packaging system (apt-get) makes downloading, installing, and removing software very easy and fast.

Iv got the CDs for Debian but i have never used them. To be onist im not looking for a OS to do all the work for me, i do all my own dirty work now :D

I guess its because i want to create my own Linux and i need to understand everything that works behind it..!

God thinking about it how lame.....
