Is it just me or does cpanel take a while to update your bandwidth usage? Cuz I'm sure as heck my site didn't take up 2.5megs of bandwidth in 24 hours... since it's not even half done and I didn't upload anything to it in the past 24 hours... and according to the log I've had only 5 hits... an image banner and some incomplete text don't take up 2.5megs with 5 hits...

I am just guessing it is a server error, because from what I have heard, HM was down today for a little bit...maybe what you saw was just because of a server error or something...

My logs said that 143 people had visited my site in one day!!! I have a well established site that doesn't get that many visitors. My site here is unadvertised... it's got to be wrong! Hasn't it?

well, the only thing i'm having problems with is the bandwidth log (yes, still)... everything else seems to be reasonable, albeit i'm not sure if they're 100% correct
P.S. mahangee, how did you design your own log?

Actually your bandwidth log sounds correct. I see you have been hosting some images that you have flowing on this site, and depending on the day, 300 or more people can see your image. And yes, that will take up your bandwidth. Im already going up to 500 megs or more a day on my bandwidth...and thats only an image hosting..I have to pay 20$ a month now to even have all of my images up...AND THATS FROM ONLY PUTTING THEM ON HERE! So basically, for me...free hosting isnt free....but anyways, its being taken up from your images.

If you guys are looking for a place to host your images, I have a little coppermine thing. You can see that here http://www.thearchive-xangelo.bl.am. Tell me what you think?

but i'm not hosting images... at the time when i noticed the sudden 2.5mb bandwidth jump, i had only ONE image on the entire site... and 5 visits in the 24 hours before that... and no uploads in the 24 hours before that... and that's what's got me puzzled...
another thing is, i just uploaded 5 more images for my new template about 15 minutes ago, and my bandwidth usage hasn't changed... the bandwidth log is seriously messed
magicdka, how do you get 500megs of bandwidth in one day??? how many visits do you have?

I have thousands of visits each day, so far the most ive had in 1 day is 8,249

All it is is located at photobucket.com, not anything special, and i have it turned off so people cant get into my album, although they cant edit it

Magicdka, why dont you use http://imageshack.us for image hosting as you can have an account and it has no limit to it. Its better than photobucket. Expect you dont have an album.

Ive tried it, its good and all but I like to have an album that way I can remember the links to my images, instead of having to always reupload it

But you can get an account now where it shows you where you have uploaded them. Just click on the "My Images" link.

I've set up a message board. At the moment, I'm the only member so there's no problem. I won't be getting any traffic there until January 2005 because the board has been established for a specific reason (a bunch of writers will be using it to refine their stories for publication).
I think there will be around 25 people using the message board from January and I'm concerned that the bandwidth won't be able to handle the activity (not on top of my normal website as well).
This is causing me some stress because I can't afford for the site to go down half way through the month.
Creator, I'm sorry to keep asking this question but how much bandwidth does this message board use in a day? I need to know that the new board will be able to cope. If not, I might have to leave it at the old location and I don't really want to do that.

i dunno what your main site is like, but the message board itself, if it supports only ~25 ppl, shouldn't use up that much bandwidth you can definitely handle it with package 2

It will be taking less than 10MB a day. You dont have to worry on bandwidth. btw, if you used up bw, you can upgrade your account when you have enough posts. :)
