Is there any value in providing a link to HM on my website, i.e. promoting hostmatrix? It's kind of funny because one of my criteria for a free webhost was no forced ads. But, this service is so terrific, now I'd like to let the world know about it!

I'm betting this question is probably already answered somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

Promote all you like. The more visitors the better...

I know there is going to be an official HM banner soon... just check around for that... and by all means... PROMOTE :D

You know what, I started out in the same situation as you... I left my previous hosting service because of the ads. But now I've put up links to HM from my own site because the service is unequalled anywhere else and the community here is very friendly.

Now, you ask if there is any "value" in providing a link to HM... besides supporting HM, there's material reasons too. The belief is that more links = more visits = more members = more clicks on ads (by google adsense, you can fint them at the top) = more revenue for HM = hopefully more profit = new servers = better performance for everyone :D

People promoting makes a communitiy grow.
either that or a bunch of people will all join the forums, make 50 posts and leave just for the hosting.
but we want all the members we can get.
