View Full Version : How is it that I'm using all of my hosting package space?

Hello,

I tried to set up by installing phpbb2 first and it seemed like I had some space left but then the next day I got an email saying that all of my space was used... but I don't see how... so clearly I am missing something. I tried to delete the phpbb2 so that I wouldn't get in trouble for going over the space limit but its still showing that I am using my full 20 mb. Anybody, let me know what I'm doing wrong. Thank You!

Are you sure you deleted EVERYTHING? :p

Edit: Try going into your control panel and click on "disk usage".

Yeah I think I did. I deleted phpbb2 so that should have at least dropped me under the "using all disk space limit". Maybe I need to find something else to delete or does it just take a while to show that all this tuff is deleted? Thanks for trying to help me though.

If you deleted it out of the file manager, did you delete it out of the trash can?

Same thing happened to me when I tried out a couple scripts and deleted them. The are deleted from the MYSQL database, but not from your site.

I went to the Public HTML folder, and then looked around. I found a folder for each of the programs I installed and uninstalled (titles invisionbowerboard, etc.). All the files were still there, they just were not doing anything for me anymore. I just put them in the trashcan and continued. My disk usage went way down. I hope that helps. Note: If you still aren't sure, do not just start deleting things just in case you delete something you shouldnt ;)

Thats exactly what I was doing wrong, not trashing correctly. Thanks for the help. I deleted some stuff and then trashed it to test and it worked, I'm under my limit, thank goodness, I didn't want to get in trouble. I am not afraid to go in and delete stuff, but what folders should I leave alone, i.e. which folders are there when you first get your account and are required for your account to operate correctly before you add anything. I just don't want to do permanent damage to my account but I would love to get rid of Everything else since my space is so precious.
