Hello Members,
As I'm sure you will have noticed the new vBulletin forums are now live. Its taken a fair amount of work and some HM funds to make this change possible but we are sure that it will prove worth while very quickly.
The Host Matrix home page (http://www.hostmatrix.org) has also been revamped to now show the most recent topic titles. This makes it even more important to ensure titles are as meaningful as possible.
I would like to express HMs thanks to all moderators and beta testers for helping with the move. Without their continued assistance HM would not be the place it is today, so thanks again :).
If anybody has any questions about the new forums, hosting or HM in general we now have a comprehensive FAQ section (http://forums.hostmatrix.org/faq.php).
That's all for now, lets go and enjoy the new forums (http://forums.hostmatrix.org).

yeah its nice but the pasword u cant change it here in user cp?
You should be able to, just go to your usercp and then go to Edit email & password, you'll have to put the password you got in your email and then change it to whatever you like.

question: WHY did you change?
I don't know why the admins chose to switch, but here are a few reasons i would switch.. Vbulletin is better for search bots, and VB is also more customizable to fit what we need it to do.

I've never used vBulletin before, so it'll take getting used to, but I am loving the new look. I can tell you guys put a lot of work into it and it's much appreciated :D

question: WHY did you change?
Quite a few reasons:
Can SEO vB a lot better
vB is at present the best forum package
As vB is a commercial product we get support when needed
IPB licensing was a bit of a gray area with the version we were using
Power and maintainability improved
Many more mods available
We like it :)
It will take a bit of getting used to, but will be worth it :D

Wow! I am so disorientated right now! :P
It looks like you guys are putting a lot more emphasis on quality posts, which is a good thing. Could anyone explain what the reputation thing I am seeing is? More importantly, how does it work?
I'm happy to see a rep scheme coming into the forum, as someone whos logged in 6/7 hrs a day, I find it hard stopping myself from replying to every topic. It's a little dangerous and very easy to cross the spam line. Hey, I they were giving points for hrs logged in , I would be there or there abouts..
The green skin kinda bugs me a little... i think that the look and feel of the original IPB was a little easier to swallow. Perhaps it will grown on me...
Architecturally speaking, it's a good move tho..
BTW, has chat been expunged from the site?

The reputation system: It is a system built into vB which lets your recieve a reputation, either positive or negative, based on the posts you make. You should see a little scale under your name, if someone wants to give you a rep they click it and choose wether its positive or negative then give a comment. You can see your comments in your CP. You can also give other members a rep by doing the same thing.
rtow: Chat, for now I think has been, it was never actually active though. :p

Hmmm... I like this reputation thing! :D
Is there going to be any consequences for your rep. getting too low? Likewise, is there going to be any rewords for getting a high rep?
Edit: Are you able to see what other peoples' reputation is?

prolly not i guess we can see other ppls reputation go over green square and stay on it for sec lol off scale hmm what is that,
i got one question for admins: why i cant change none of my info like some extra info location and that sort of things it always says this error : msn cant handle or something like it when i try to save stuff?

Since we are on the topic of reputations (which is a much better idea than post count)... how do you see your own? I can't find it anywhere in the CP.
Or does someone have to rate you first? If so.. could someone rate me neutral so I can see the set up?
Soldier: I think that is an error that only certain people are getting but not all. I had no problems editing my own.
I don't think you understand, you don't use anything, we still have to set it up with the right ranks, for example when you get certain points, you have something that says you have certain points when you go over your green little thing. It's still in the process.

Click your reputation icon (a little scale) and a box will pop-up giving you your current reputation level. :)

The reputation system is built into vB, therefore its always there, the admin I think can have the option of turning it on/off. :)
