As Net heavyweights vie to define the next generation of Web applications, the Web's main standards body is facing a revolt within its own ranks over electronic forms, a cornerstone of interactive documents.

Just wondering anyone's opinions on this. Since this isn't a very structured thread, I put it in the Underground.

All I have to say is Al Gore must be disappointed in what his internet has become :P

oh yeah, firefox 1.1 will be great. i expect
but according to the betanews, the debut had been originally set in March this year, however, due to a few problems and bug fixes, the release date was delayed.
there're a few bug fixes in the new firefox version 1.1, like the scroll bar bug that causes the browser not to retain the scroll position when going back and forward through Web pages, etc, etc.

I've always respected the W3C, and I think that all browsers should be supporting their standards. There needs to be a compromise, I'd hate to see this part of the Internet broken up.

I had no clue there was a firefox 1.1.
I'm not going to check...but is it official? Or was it just announced?
