This thing wereby you can't post in a topic if it hasn't been posted into in 10 days is a bit annoying. A couple of times now I've been on threads where they are near the top of the first page of a forum, but havn't been able to post on itdue to the 10 day limit.
IMO not reviving old topics is a good thing, but really I don't think the forum is active enough for a 10 day limit - would think it would be better if the limit was longer (maybe 15-20 days).
10 day limit would be good if the forums were a little more active though.

the10-day limit is quite short and maybe the member has just saw that topic 10 days after it was last posted so like TX 101 said...we should change it to 15-20 days long...but Creator already said that now, once the rules have been confirmed...they cannot be changed anymore...maybe tx 101...wait for the next round of rule-changing.

maybe, was just an idea :D
its' just happened to me about 3 or 4 times today already, where I've put a long post and then realized that the topic hasn't been posted in for 10 days
also, while I'm on this topic maybe different amounts of time could be used for different forums - The underground could stay at 10 days as it is very active but maybe forums such as the hardware and software forums could be changed up a bit - as they are not quite as active.
I gotta admit, it's not the end of the world otherwise.... was just an idea :P
Alphonse, who said that the rules can't be changed? Please don't put words in other people's mouths, if people suggest a good rule to add we can always alter it to make our members happy.
TX 101, We'll see what we can do, We just applied that rule because too many people were reviving threads older than 1 month and we were tired of it. I think that your idea was good how the underground should be different than most because it's more active. We'll take a look at it.

And if Alphonse made the decisions around here, HM would have been much worse off than it was approx. a month ago. Alphonse, I really do not see how you are in the position to ridicule other's actions.. Before you point out other's faults, look at your own.
Alphonse:
All that he said was you shouldn't put words in others' mouths, and that rules really can be changed. Terminator said that they are open for discussion, which means that they can be changed. He was 100% right, and had no trace of an attitude, so I have 0% of an idea what you're talking about. Just so you know, Terminator did listen to Ic3Cold's suggestion. The forum order was changed. Ic3 really didn't go against anyone, in case you didn't notice. I think you are just trying to "get revenge" on Ic3 for some reason that I don't know. If you stop being headstrong, and read some of your posts, you'll be forced to realize that you sound rediculous sometimes, and that you're the one with the attitude around here. So, again, lose your attitude, or lose your posting privelages, because I'm losing my patience.
On subject:
I think it's a great idea to maybe extend the day limit for specific forums. But, as you know, we're going to be going through some major changed in the next week, and once they happen, the whole modification will "disappear".. This doesn't mean that once the changes are finished, I can't redo it to fit your new ideas. Great thought :)

I think that the limit should be extended, so that there are more conversation topics - often people don't have the initiative to start their own, but are stimulated by old topics they want to revive.

I'm inclined to agree with a time increase. As I seem to be saying a lot at the moment, big changes are afoot so there will be no rule changes just yet.
Give it a month or so and then we'll revisit the rule book subject.

I have noticed that when i try and post on some pinned threads, i type something about 4 lines long and then i click submit and i am disappointed! i think this rule is fair but there is no way of telling what day it is because i do not have a clock in the bottom right or date! I think this fact should be edited into the rules because i thought i had user controls on me! :D
What i am trying to say is add a notice just above the fast reply so that people do not post long posts like this and then get stressed because the thread is considered old!

I support the idea of increasing the time limit. I just don't think this community is quite big enough just yet, maybe up the ten days to 2 or 3 weeks... Then when this forum gets a little bigger you could drop it again.

tim and teelo got a good point, i think we should extend the time limit by 5-10 days.
to my oberservation, quite a few of the forum topics were "cold", what i mean is the latest messages in those boards are over 5 days or even weeks. if we can extend the time limit for those forums, members can post more things in those forums without having to worry as much about the time limit restriction.

I don't need to say this but, I wish I could revive some old hot topics. Like the whatpulse one. I think 14 days is good enoguh. I think that with 2 weeks, a lot of cold topics cn be revived

Tim: sorry for all that happened today, like shwaza said...i do not deserve a break, like mck + the whole mod team said...i am spamming...and like ic3 indirectly saio is that he hates me...edit this post if i'm wrong...

I'm very sorry to get offtopic, as that is against the rules, but I'm going to have to break the rules here for a second, someone please give me a 10% warning, I'm serious. I'm very frustrated with alphonse
Alphonse, in no way, directly or indirectly, did I say that I hated or disliked you. The only thing that I have done is my job on this forum. I have reported your posts, which you admitted were spam, and then I gave you warning through PM, which I should have given you at least 30% warning because it is not your first offense, and gave you a break. If you want, I'll go through all your spam posts, and link to each one. I don't hate you, I'm just very frustrated at you because you keep spamming and then you accuse me of hating you.
Please don't reply to this topic as It is hijacking, and I myself am breaking a rule. If you want to talk to me, please pm me or start a topic in the underground.
Again, I'm sorry for losing my temper, but I really needed to get this off my chest.
