Kingdoms Of Battle

Well, as some people might know, I've been designing and coding a text based strategy game.

It is called kingdoms of battle, and i am about to start the first beta round of it, this comming saturday, at 6:00 eastern time.

The point of the game, is to gain networth, and build your kingdoms economy, and military, and try to have the strongest kingdom, at the end of the round. Since this is a beta round, i am only going to have it run for 2 weeks, however if everything is going well, i may extend it.

Currently, you are able to signup a test account to see the game, and try it out, however all those accounts that are created, will be deleted sometime on saturday, so i can reset the game, for the beta round.

Heh, just kidding. I can see that you have put a ton of work into making something productive :P, with help from various people, of course :) You really learned a lot from the project, also, I remember when you first started, you asked "What's an insert query?" :P

Anyway, about the game. I like the whole thing, and although text based games are not my favorite thing to do, It's pretty interesting to play, and I think it has a lot of potential.

To all that are going to sign up: Be prepared to be hunted down and battled against by the almighty Timolia!

Lol thanks tim :P right now though i think it's my friend whos kingdom is urmomtopia that'll be doing all the hunting down. He has a networth in the sixillions :P. That would be the result of a bug... that was fixed! lol

Liam, I think I've encountered a bug... :P
My money is in the negative and even though my production is supposed to be +1000 money per turn, I don't get any money when i use my turns ;)

No, my game works on turns, and ticks. Ticks happen every hour, so every hour, you will recieve +1000 money :) Also, what did you do get into negative money? I'm pretty sure i used a bunch of if else's to stop that sort of thing :S

Lol, you can try it out, it dosnt take up a lot of time, and you can run a pretty good kingdom only logging in for about 5-10 minutes twice a day :)

Tim i am afraid you are mistaken, the might Crystal Geyser shall destroy you all! :D As for the game great work, I really haven't noticed anything wrong and the new message feature is awesome. B) You definitely put work into this, and it all turned out great. The actual site design looks nice to. :D

:P mck's kingdom: Crystal Geyser has succesfully attacked Timolia, Shwaza Land, and Elador. The funny thing is when attacking Elador instead of getting money I got -something, I guess that has to do with the bug numbers found. This is a warning: :P My kingdom is more powerful than yours! :D

Lol, youpo, you didnt even signup... Anyway, all it is, is a string of php/mysql querys, and a whollllle lot of if/else statements :P

Cool! If I wasn't so incompetent, I'd ask how on earth one goes about making a text-based game...it seems like it'd be fun, but I'm afraid it's out of my league.

:P I'm rarely ever able to keep up with this kind of thing! But I looked over the site and thought it seemed cool. You must have put in a lot of effort! I'm just not online at the right times and usually end up behind, otherwise I'd give it a go.
