Can someone please enlighten me in how you install new templates withou having to make a folder and then transfer files one by one.

You can just upload the whole folder. Using an FTP program. You could also just upload the zip and extract it.

If you choose the FTP, just go to download.com and search for FTP program. Then choose one and download it. Once it's downloaded, install it. AFter that, open it up, and find something about connecting. Click the connecting button, and they for the
host: ftp.hostmatrix.org
username: your username
password: ******

Then you go into the public_html, then forums(whatever directory you have it installed it), and then templates. Then just upload the whole folder that you EXTRACTED from the .zip file. So you need to extract the files in the .zip file first. Then you go to the Admin CPanel in the Forums and go to styles, and add. Then just click install by the one you like.

ok doen all tht but it wont let me change the actually template its jsut staying the same color and pics :huh: :huh:

How can I extract a zip on the server?

i dont know how to do that so i downaloded a thing called smart ftp it lets youload up alot of files all at once.

what you want to do is this..
1)Connect to your website with your smart ftp.
2)then where ever you stored the forum name.. or whatever you named the forum...find that folder...
3)once you find it get into the folder and find a folder called "Templates" go inside and you will see two objects a folder called "SubSilver"(i wounder what that is) and "index.html".
4)upload the folder into the templates folder.
5)copy the "index.html" from the file you uploaded it and paste it to the template folder.
6) "Yes to All" when it comes up
7)go intot he Admin page of yourforums and then find where it says "Add Style"
8)you'll then find the template you just added.
9) install it and then delete the SubSilver(this is what i do)

hope this helps and if there are any ways better to do it feel free to say because this is the way I do it and others have there own :)

by just clicking on the file then selecting "extract" :P

Also I know is to go to your forums and go to Admin CP and go to general configuration. From there you see use default template saying subsliver so click on box and switch to one you want. Also check mark the override current template.

Note: You need to also have added the template.
