whisler is a famous skiing resort in north america. biggest in n america btw. it is also the host of the 2010 winter olympics! close to vancouver
according to my knowledge, bill gates and other employees of microsoft always have secret meetings in whisler during the summer. so i guess that's the main reason why they named their operating system that relates to whisler. :P
whisler is a very beautiful place, go there if you planning for a ski trip! :D

Heh whistler. But I think this is just a big coincidence. How many projects do they have right now? Do they all have names from Whistler?

And where is whistler?

Whistler's in BC, Canada isn't it? My favourite code-name is Snowball. It was the codename for Windows for Workgroups 3.11
