i was re-reading one of the hosting request a few moments ago, i thought of this idea when i came to this reply:

All pages must be in English; HM checks the contents of its hosted sites. As English is the only language that all the staff members can understand, we require sites to be in English.


Maybe we can "hire" a few users who know other different languages to translate some of the non-english hm hosted sites to check its contents. If something is wrong, they can just report it to the administrators.
Then we will make a list of languages that hm will support (eg: Indian, Chinese, French, Spanish, etc)
In this way, people can hosted their site in other languages whichever they prefer, even if their main language is not english.

India has around 50+ regional languages. And knowing all of them is impossible.

I know only about 3 of them now.

I think its not a good suggestion.

no, i mean general languages, not those punjabi and those hindi languages :P
but the languages that are most common in the world, such as:
1.chinese
2.hindi-urdu
3.spanish
4.portugese
5.russian
6.arabic
7.japanese
8.french
9.korean

btw, i am just trying to explain more to this.. :)

Flames, this would not be worth the time and effort, and it would only make a difiference for a couple of people, beacuse we would only be able to support 1 or 2 more languages, while english is the most widely used (on the internet) language, we might as well just use it.

I don't think it's such a great idea because like 2 out of 15 people will have their site not in English. I think that we should just keep it in English so that we all know what they are talking about and we can all enjoy their sites. It's just easier that way. Thanks for the suggestion though!

First of all it is just unreasonable. We don't have people that will spend their time translating sites has a favor, sure if we had someone that did it it would be nice, but they might want something in return. Also the amount of people that would use this service would be minimal compared to the amount of people who follow the rules and have English sites. I think Shwaza said this, English is the dominant language on the interent and I see no need at present to have a trasnaltion person.


EDIT: I'm gonna close this, as it seems Creator has already vetoed this idea and we all sort of disagreed with it. ;) Sorry flames.
