Well, i have installed a server on my computer, but i didn't use apache. I used a free software, that is quite nice, and very easy to install, i'm sure you could figure it out. You can download abyss webserver at http://www.aprelium.com/
If you need any more help with this, or installing mysql or php, just ask.
Also, to have a redhat 9 server, you have to be on that OS already.

Well, if you're using apache, i can't really help you because i've never tried using it before, supposedly it's harder, and i dont really use my server for much but storage, so i don't need anything too fancy :P

I have a question. I have abyss web server running, but I want to know how I can make it so it can be accessed by 24.215.123.101 (my real ip) I am on a network using windows ics (internet connection sharing) by using crossover cable (not a hub or anything) It only works on 127.0.0.1 and 192.168.0.2
Please Help!

Well, are you using port 80 on it? Because if you arent using port 80, then you have to do http://(ip address):(port used)

I am using port 80. But it looks up my network ip (192.168.0.2) instead of my real ip (24.215.123.101) and only people on my network can see 192.168.0.2
