I'm using WordPress to set up my site. Whilst getting the information onto the site is easy, I'm finding it difficult to make changes to the template. Because I'm not confident in what I'm doing I keep uploading the template to see if it's looking like what I had planned. Thing is, this is chewing up the bandwidth and I want to know if there's a better way of checking my coding (on my computer) without uploading it to the website?
I use Dreamweaver but the view panel doesn't show me anything. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm new at php so I might need extra instructions to get me started.

You can either install it on your PC at home and test it there
Official Installation Manual.
http://uk.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.php
OR
Use another PHP host to test things on.

OK, I'll post this for future beginners of WordPress.
There is a viewer in WordPress itself. I did know that but there was some technical talk about not being about to view documents unless it complied with CMS666 (or something like that). I had no idea what that was and the standard template that comes with WordPress obviously doesn't comply.
I hated that template so uploaded a better one until I could work out how to view the pages, then came here and posted my original message. Today, I went back to WordPress and discovered that I can now edit and view my work. Yay! Problem solved.
So if you get stuck in this way just upload another php template and that will solve the problem.
Good luck!

Sorry, I'm back with another question. :)
Can anyone tell me what CHMOD666 is? I can only edit the template if it complies with this. I don't know what it is.

I worked it out for myself. So for any future WordPress users who might run into this problem, here's a link that should help you sort it out.
