Starting now HM will give away one award each Sunday in the following categories (awards will reflect overall contribution in the week preceeding handout):

HM Service Award
HM Special Service Award
HM Outstanding Service Award

The recipients of these awards will be listed here.

In addition to the awards, winners will get special images that they can add to their signatures.
People who are found using any of these signatures, but have not won an award, will receive +50% warn.
People who have won an award, but are found using a signature that is not for the award they won, will be struck off this list and lose the right to use any of the sigs.

This sounds good
but will the people get any special things or anything (besides a sig)

And who will select the winners?

I'm assuming the mods will select the winners, and services could include, writing a tutorial, helping someone out who is in need of help, or just overall good atitude towards everyone :)

No school today :) (PD - Professional Development Day)
I guess it's their way of saying sorry after all those final exams in the past couple weeks :P

Dont mind me asking numbers, but what exactly is the motto of giving out such awards? I mean, why all of a sudden this thing?

Ah... I see, is it to get more worthful contributions towards the community. wooo, count me out!!! :P

@Silver,
Members here contribute a lot and this is a way to recognize some outstanding contributions to the community :)

Btw, this is how it's gonna work.
For the first week, mods are going to pick all the winners.

Each week after that,
The winner of the Outstanding Services Award will pick next week's winner for the Special Services Award; the winner of the Special Services Award will pick next week's winner for the Services Award; and mods will pick the winner of the Outstanding Services Award for the following week.

ahh, so i can get in a deal w/ someone to win an award and the next time he gives it back to me and i give it back to him, etc. etc.
muwahaha.
I already cracked the system

That's a good point... Mabye the mods should confirm/deny the appointment according to the way they have been helping. This way we can keep our checks on who is selected.

Anything that you can do to help the community :) You could write a tutorial, help out in one of the web design, php, html, etc. forums, make a sig for someone, or anything else that would be a nice contribution to the community :)

Thanks Kevin for pointing this out and thanks Ic3 for the suggestion :)
Yah, we'll get the mods to confirm; if we see a weird pattern, then we may choose to override the decision :P

P.S. This shouldn't be too much of a prob though, cuz notice that winners can only appoint next week's winner for the next level ("lower" level) of award... and the winner of the Service Award doesn't appoint anyone; so even if some ppl make a deal outta this, they can only do it for two weeks :)

You do a lot more than you think you do.

A: You offer help to others. A big + in these awards.
B: You can offer great advice and constructive criticizm.

Those two alone can mean the world, and a Special Services Award :) Even if you don't use HM for hosting, we still want to give you an award for all of the work you've done.

Congratulations to all :P
