View Full Version : CSS help..
Ok, i thought i had this whole CSS divs replacing tables thing figured out, then i tried it. I failed, miserably. I'm wondering if someone will write the css for me, for one of my index files, so i can use as a structural example on how to do it. I'll send whoever volunteers (if anyone) the .zip of the .html file and the images. Please? Thanks

Well, i could take a look at it if you like :) i just recently learned css and divs, but it's dead easy if you're using dreamweaver. If you just email me all of the stuff to shwaza@gmail.com i'll check it out, also, is it currently in tables? and you want me to convert it? Or do you just have the images?
Here's a .zip of the index.html and all the images used. (http://www.zanesvilletechsolutions.com/josh/index.zip) It's all in tables. Thanks a lot, shwaza

No problem :) I can't garuntee any time that i'll have it done, and i probably wont start on it tonight because it's 10:30 on a school night :P but I most likley will have tomorrow off, because there's this huge storm that's supposed to hit. However if i do have school tomorrow, i might not be able to get at it till tuesday, but there's a huge chance of a day off tomorrow :D so most likley i'll get at it tomorrow :)
EDIT:
Task completed: Recreated index.html using divs.
Total working time: 2 hours, 3 minutes
Work to be done by client: Creation of style sheet, from styles of divs already created (easy), make links to places, (easy, but i wasnt sure where to point them), make the buttons be switchers onmousover.
Extra Notes: I had to resize only one image, the contact button, i made it a little bit smaller, because it wouldn't fit otherwise :S If you want to change the alignments, to look better in a different resolution, that is pretty easy, and i'm sure you can do it :) Welcome to the age of css and divs :) and out of the age of crappy tables :P! I actually remade the page, since there is no easy way to convert tables to divs, so i just started from scratch.
Thanks geek, because of that little project, i've discovered that i like to help people with web design, so i'm going to make a new site just for helping people with it! Now, according to your prices, you would owe me $46 for 2 hours of work :P JUST KIDDING :D anyway, have fun with the new site, and when you read this, please give me an email that i can send it to you with :)
If anyone else wants to see a screenshot of the site, click here (http://www.storemypic.com/uploads/e6b5004a5d.jpg) i think you'll notice that there is practically no difference between it and their current site!
BTW: when posting this i got this message "You have posted a message with more emoticons that this board allows. Please reduce the number of emoticons you've added to the message" haha i didnt know i used that many.
those numbers on the index page are just there. Currently, we haven't really done any advertising, so the BS numbers are there until our financial team <lol, sounds so sophisticated, its really just me and enderx> come up with some real numbers. You can email the stuff to me @ corymahon@hotmail.com, or zip it and put it on the web, whichever is easier for you. Hopefully i learn how to do this stuff from this. Thanks a lot shwaza!!! i owe you one. :D
