I have a suggestion for the adds on the side. I think that you should make them target="_blank"

I think that this would be helpful, so that if you are reading a post, then you see an interesting add, it would not interfere with your reading of that post :)

Just my two cents ;)

Or you could do what I do which is to put all the extra effort in and right click the select open in new tab (window for you IE users) and badda-bing-badda-boom its gets a new window. :D

Yeah I agree it might be helpful, but unless you can change it in your adsense account options I dont know how else you could do it, as there is no way in the adsense code you are given to use on your site to add _blank. Or at least by my reckoning.

His site though is mainly about utilizing AdSense to the maximum, not hacking the actual code.

yeah, it would be nice to have it open to a new window. Can't you specify that in you Adsense account? Like, that it should always open in a new window?

Oh, Well, I've seen some other hosting sites with google ads, I think they were google ads, that opened in a new window. I have MYIE2 and it's cool, because all I have to do is click a button and any link I click popsup in a new window. It also has builtin popup blocker and i like it a lot :)

Google Inc. doesn't allow adsense to open in a new browser... Opening in a new browser means for some browsers that use pop-up blockers it will treat as pop-ups only.. meaning the ad will not be opened though it is being clicked...

Thus google has this kind of policy not allowing ads to be opened in a new browser... if admins try to change the ad code as they likes, Google will disable the adsense (ads.) account.. Google Adsense Team doesn't like this as much as those of fraudulent clicks.. So, don't encourage Admins to do this...

If it bothers you, Right-click and select 'open window in a new browser' or Press Shift Key while Clicking the ads. Those will result in opening in a new windows...

Actually, the google ads on my SoE site are set to open in a new window (from the adsense cp; I did not modify the code).
