Does anyone know a free php adserver script that would display random adds, banners, text, etc, and would count click throughs and impressions?

Scripts like this can be found in the script library, and more in Fantastico.

There is a GPL 'd one. Called PhpAdsNew. Its highly complicated to understand though. You can use the accompanying PDF user guide.

Its has all that mentioned in your post.

Yup, that's possible :)
I use phpadsnew and I think it's terrific. If you need help understanding it, you can always just PM me or post in the forum after you install it :)

1. Log into admin acct.
2. Click "Add new advertiser" - the link is not the easiest to find so be patient :P
3. Input the required info... this sets up a new advertising acct.
4. A couple screens later, you'll be on a screen called linked zones... if you haven't set up a publisher acct yet, there shouldn't be anything on this screen... if you have already set up a publisher acct, then click on the publishers that should display the new ads.
5. Finish adding this new advertiser acct.
6. Click "Inventory" at the top.
7. If you have not added a publisher acct yet, follow these steps:
a. Click "Publisher and Zones"
b. "Add New Publisher"
c. Pretty much the same process... input the required info and add the new publisher acct
8. When you're done adding a new publisher, go back to "Inventory" and go to the Advertisers Tab
9. Click on the advertiser acct you added at the beginning. There should already be a "Campaign" folder under this advertiser. If not, click "Create" on the same row as the advertiser acct's name.
10. Click on the "Create" button that's on the same row as the campaign folder (not the "create" button on the same row as the advertiser acct!!!)
11. Select text ad from the drop down box at the top
12. Input all the info; this should be straightforward
13. Keeping going through the set up screens. When you are at the linked zones screen, check to make sure that the publisher accts are selected.
14. Go to the publisher screen now to get the code.

Now the initial set up is complete. From now on, you can add new ads to be rotated simply by following Steps 10-13 (there's no need to get new code each time you change something)

Ad clicks/views can be found on the Statistics screen (link at the top)

P.S. A word of caution: Although phpadsnew is awesome, it does eat up some disk space and BW. Play around with it a bit. A word of advice: if you ever plan to host banner ads, make sure the "Store banner in mysql" option is turned off (it's on by default)!!! Instead, select store banner on server or externally. If the banners are stored in mysql, say goodbye to your BW!!! :P
