Depending on what FTP program your using, just right click on the folder and you should be able to do it from there. (I use IPSwitch WS_FTP Pro)

if you use SmartFTP then right-click (ctrl-click) the folder then properties/CHMOD -> check the check boxes and it will add up the CHMOD for you. (rwe-rwe-rwe = 777)

Also some FTP programs dont give you the numbers but choices. For example you will have 3 groups User, Group and Other. And under these 3 groups you have 3 options Read Write Execute, for 777 you must check all of them :D

You can make the MySQL DBs in your cPanel. In cPanel, click "MySQL Databases". Now, go down until you see a line:

Db:[________] [Add Db]

Write something like "forum" in it and click add db. If you have existing databases, you have your username in front of them. DO NOT add the username yourself, it will be added automatically.

Now, go down again, until a point "Users". You should see another box:

UserName:[______]
Password:[_______]
[Add user]

Do something to these again.

Now, when you have both, go to the thing above db creation. Select the database and the user from the lists, and put a tick to "all", if there isn't yet. Click "Add user to db" and you're done. During the installation, the thing will ask for username, password and database name. Insert these into them, WITHOUT [YourNameHere]_database, but AS databasename. If you have questions, or wish for me to install it, you can PM me, or just ask in the thread.
