Hi..
Im really new to all this website management system things, namely the E107 or the NukePHP. Can somebody explain to me briefly [preffered] or point me towards the right direction on how to start using this tools/items/systems. Anyway, i have a 'lame' [interms of html or what not] working website at http://342.hostmatrix.org/ which as u will find out later, uses html only. Is it possible to use this MySQL thinnggie on the thinngs that i have already have online.. ie my website or do i need to start over new.. Sorry if u have difficulties understanding my english.. <_<

I dont know where to post this question, so i decided to post it in here.. plz move it elsewhere if u find it more suitable.. cheers.

Seemingly he asked if someone could give him a brief show of MySQL with or without(Not sure of this) NukePHP.

well PHPnuke and e107 are both CMS and are both extremely simple to setup. The only problem with both is it requires some knowledge of PHP and mySQL to create your own templates. If you want to use a premade template, then you should experience no problems at all.

I'll give you a rundown of both. I personally prefer e107 better because I have more experience with it. My website in my sig uses e107. I also created a tutorial for installing it HERE (http://www.hostmatrix.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=686). I won't go into explaining this too much because the tutorial covers much of that.

PHPnuke is just as easy to install and you have more options with forum systems. You can use IPB with e107, but you need to hack files, while PHPnuke is pretty easy to setup with any forums system. Creating content and menus are more difficult with PHPnuke, but the finished product is more customized then what e107 can offer.

There are other CMS out there as well. If you do a quick google seach, you will see there are many different types, most of which are free.

If you could please list a few things you want on your website, I will point you in the direction you want to go. The more info/content you supply me with, the easier the choice will be.

I hope this helped some and I hope I didn't completly misinterprete your question.

well from what I can see, you have a decent website already. If you are willing to start from scratch, e107 with some plugins would be your best bet.

Since you have a photogallery, there are photogallery plugins availible. I don't think you will need anything else other then that for plugins. If you setup with e107, you will have a news script, forums, link script, and content pages that you can easily configure.

If you want to keep your current theme, don't change, it's far too hard to change themes without the proper knowledge. If you are willing to change, there are hundreds of themes availible for download, visit http://e107themes.org to check them out. For plugins, check out http://e107coderz.org.

I have written a tutorial on setting it up, if you have a problem, feel free to contact me via PM or AIM, I'll be glad to help you out :D
