Hmm..

To me the member ranks like admin, moderator, super moderator is quite boring. :(

What about a brain storming for new titles of these ranks ?

Also I would like to add new ranks for designers, coders, teachers, helping members etc.

Could you suggest some great rank titles for these ranks?

Good idea. We could have an old program rank, you know like the oracle and her bodyguard. We coul have a keymaker. We could have general robots. We could have viruses (not sure what they would do). I like it.

I absolutely agree with you Creator...I think that just normal rankings are plain BORING. I am the owner/mod of a few boards and I have changed every ranking system....I think it's just too boring to have the normal rankings....But, I am wondering...do you only want a matrix type ranking system...or can it be based on anything...Get back to me and I will try to think of something during ENGLISH and ALG. II... hehe :P

Hmmm...that is quite a very tough theme to think of titles... maybe a little narrowing of the theme will help...what about sticking to the matrix theme?

As we all know this community is for helping budding webmaster, the title should reflect that.

I'm an admin on my site :P and was a mod on many forums until I was uninterested in the forum and told the admin I really didn't care for the job anymore :P

I've had tons of websites... almost all of which turn out to be just a bunch of crap... getting maybe 10 members... i've gotten 100 on another one... and this current one I have over 1000 :D

Anyone can be a mod if they want to be :D

I think I would do more of a hybrid list. First off I liked the idea of the staff having matrix titles and my three favorites are as follows.


Admin=Architect
SuperMod= Sentinels
Mods= Agents

As for the users I would try to making them a little amusing and fun. Here are a few random ideas:

Neophyte / Newbie / Rookie / Tenderfoot
Post R' Us
Human Typewriter
Nocturnal Shut-in
Lead Spammer / Spamacus Maximus


Then you can also have a few special ranks for those particularly good at certain areas:

Graphics Guru
PhP Professor
Html Hotshot

Those are army ranks on the site you linked to I believe. Mine are the enisted men first then the officers, I left warrant officers out because it was getting a little long.

Anyhow here is the breakdown for navy ranks

Enlisted Men:

I certainly see your point, but just because it's a hosting company doesn't mean you can't have a little fun with the rank titles. They don't mean much anyway, just makes things a little more interesting.

Personally, I like the way Magicdka has set it up, For one it looks awesome, two its understandable. I dont think super mid and mod and admin are boring when they are like that, but if you get away and do the Pea thing, or The agents, Neo , and all of that, I'd Just get really confused on the ranking system. But if you leave it like that, and just make it look cool like Magicdka had done. I think It looks awesome.
